DYK Chesapeake Bank Richmond has a team of Financial Ambassadors tasked with providing financial information (think: educational classes + support) to residents of low-or-moderate income areas.

Last month, Regional Manager Kevin Hill held a financial empowerment class in conjunction with local nonprofit HumanKind. The presentation (which covered budgeting, credit basics + money access) was designed to provide continuing education for Financial Ambassadors, who can then spread their knowledge to other Richmonders. 💵 *

  • Sports Backers announced it has already raised $1.5 million for its $3 million, five-year “Building a Vibrant Community” campaign.   • Friday, Nov. 11-Sunday, Nov. 20 marks Virginia Cider Week. Richmond’s Blue Bee Cider, Buskey Cider, Bryant’s Cider & Brewery, and Courthouse Creek Cider will host events throughout the week with tastings, special releases, and live music.

  • 30,000. That’s how many homes the new Charles City County solar farm is expected to power. The Skipjack Solar facility opened 514,200 panels last week, and will generate 175 megawatts of energy. This project was created as part of the Virginia Clean Energy Act in 2018. ☀️ (ABC8 News)
