Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a big month for Virginia Physicians for Women (VPFW). Throughout October, the women’s health provider is in the community participating in events, fundraising for organizations + offering specials β€” all to support and raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of mammograms.

Tying it all together, VPFW is also hosting a Pink Purse Raffle, with prize values up to $2,000. Read: Participation in most of the month’s activities includes a raffle entry.

Here are six ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with VPFW (activities with a purse πŸ‘› include a Pink Purse Raffle entry):

  1. Get a free mammogram (for the uninsured). VPFW is offering a select number of free mammograms to uninsured women. Call (804) 897-2100 to learn more, check availability + schedule an appointment.
  2. Walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K. Join the VPFW 5K team at Libbie Mill on Sun., Oct. 16 to walk for your health, raise awareness + funds for breast cancer, and be entered in the raffle. Pro tip: The course includes a Pink Ribbon Scavenger Hunt. πŸ‘›
  3. Donate caps + cards for cancer patients. Caps for Cancer and Cards for a Cause are initiatives started by VPFW patient Suzie Adams to give new or homemade hats, scarves, and uplifting cards to cancer patients. Donate items to any VPFW location throughout October. πŸ‘›
  4. Fundraise for research. Support breast cancer research + advocacy by donating to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation via the VPFW fundraising page by Mon., Oct. 31. πŸ‘›
  5. Save 15% on your first ThermiVa Treatment. Schedule an appointment during Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a discount on ThermiVa. Bonus: You don’t have to be a breast cancer survivor to receive special pricing.
  6. Help spread the word that #MammogramsSaveLives. Post a photo of yourself wearing pink and tag VPFW on Facebook or Instagram with hashtag #MammogramsSaveLives by Oct. 31 to receive a Pink Purse Raffle entry. πŸ‘›*
