Both Hanover and Henrico have announced events celebrating the Fourth of July.

Henrico will host Red, White and Lights starting at 5 p.m. on July 4. The family-friendly event will feature an outdoor performance by the Richmond Symphony with local artist J. Roddy Walston. A laser lightshow will start around 9 p.m. Since the event will feature no fireworks, it’s ideal for those sensitive to loud noises.

Meanwhile, in Ashland, the day will be packed with events including an apple pie baking contest and a performance the Hanover Concert Band. The festivities kick off with the Hanover Arts parade, which will begin at Henry Clay Elementary at 11 a.m. See the full schedule of events online.
