Henrico Public Works crews are slowing speed limits on 100+ roads across the county. Newly changed signs will have orange flags and a placard saying “New Regulation.” Investigate which impacted roads are dropping speeds for pedestrian safety. ⚠️ (ABC8 News)

Carvana plans to hire ~200 more people to its team at a new inspection station in Chesterfield County by the end of 2022. The general manager says those employees will help run three production lines which can produce 160 cars a week. 🚗 (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
Sports
The channel CW Richmond (65.1 on cable) will be the home for several Virginia Union + other HBCU football games this fall. Each game will have an hour-long pregame show. Scan the schedule that includes VUU’s match-up against Virginia State in November. 🏈 (NBC12)
Holiday
Riverfront Canal Cruises announced special Eerie Canal Halloween Cruises for Sat., Oct. 29. Boats will leave every half hour from 5-8:30 p.m. Guides will tell spooky Richmond stories as the guests sail through dark waters. Admission is $6 + kids get a candy treat. 🎃

Amtrak ridership increases in Richmond, VA

According to the Richmond Times Dispatch, the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority has reported increases in Amtrak ridership over the past three years, largely due to regional route expansion.

Second, Amtrak is a true transit Editor’s Pick. My friends and I often make connections between Richmond’s Main Street Station, Baltimore’s BWI + DC’s Union Station. I always bring my visitors some Soul Taco or Bryant’s Cider after the four hour ride.
