City Council has approved a $4 million bond issue to replace Fire Station No. 12 on West Cary Street. The project seeks to improve the 114-year-old building through modern design, more private areas for firefighters + updated work spaces. Halcyon Vintage will host a fall rummage sale the weekend of Oct. 22-23. The shop will have clothes, jewelry, gifts, and other vintage goodies displayed on the sidewalk of 117 N. Robinson Ave. from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday + 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

The Dept. of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities is hosting a discussion on how to make Richmond a Bee City. The Bee City Working Committee will go over pollinator protection efforts at the Byrd Park Round House on Fri., Oct. 14 at noon.

Henrico County is using $17 million in state funds to improve pedestrian road safety. The money will go toward projects like building crosswalks + installing more stoplights along streets like Nine Mile Road and Kenway Avenue. đźš— (NBC12)
