  • Kristen Nye is the new president of City Council and Ann-Frances Lambert is vice president after a vote at Council’s meeting yesterday. Nye represents the 4th District and Lambert represents the 3rd.
Coming Soon
  • Customizable furniture maker Txtur will open a showroom and restaurant in Manchester this spring or summer. The brand — a division of Roanoke-based Chervan — will bring Txtur and Stock Café & Bar to the former Seaboard train depot on Hull Street. (Richmond BizSense)

  • Tiny Vegan Food Cart is moving into a brick and mortar location at 104 S. Sheppard St. in Carytown. The new spot will have limited seating inside and outside in addition to takeout and delivery.
State
  • The new year means several new statewide laws have gone into effect as of Jan. 1. See how five laws might impact you — including changes to the medical cannabis program, requirements for foster care home studies, and health care coverage for minors with hearing aids. (WUSA)
