Virginia is adding a statue of Barbara Johns — the civil rights leader who began a student walk out in Farmville at the age of 16 — to the National Statuary Hall in DC. Take a look at the full-size clay model, which will now go before the Architect of the Capitol for approval. (VPM)

Stop by The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design during Easter on Parade this Sunday, March 31. The museum will hold an open house from 12 to 5 p.m. with an Easter egg hunt, hourly house tours, and seasonal hats for sale.

Catch an independently produced production of “Hughie” at the Basement April 18-21. The show comes from members of Cadence Theatre’s Unstaged Acting class. Performances will also include live music from the John Winn Jazz Trio. Tickets are $25.
