Much like craft breweries, distilleries and tasting rooms have popped up across Richmond for folks looking for local libations.

We’ve found seven local distilleries with something for any spirit stan.

Belle Isle Moonshine | Belle Isle sells bottles with wild infusions such as Honey Habanero. You can also try out a canned cocktail like the Blood Orange Smash.

Virago Spirits | Sign up for a distillery tour to sample an array of Virago’s offerings.

Cirrus Vodka | Cirrus offers a Bloody Mary Bar on Sundays made with its vodka and mix.

Three Crosses Distilling Co. | A quick drive to Powhatan brings you to a haven of spirits from rum to whiskey to gin all created by co-owners John and Michelle Davenport.

From the editor
I successfully avoided taking any science classes during my four years at William & Mary, but I knew a lot of folks who would’ve been thrilled by a revamped Marine Science school. I don’t know much about what’s going on under water, but I’m glad someone does.
