The city took another step towards the creation of Westover Park this week. The Richmond School Board agreed to transfer ownership of the fields behind Westover Hills Elementary to the Dept. of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities. Bidding for the project is set to start next year. (South Richmond News)

The posters for this year’s Folk Festival and 2nd Street Festival have been unveiled. The Folk Fest art was created by Robert Meganck, who also designed the 2005 poster. Amiri Richardson-Keys is the artist behind the 2nd Street poster. (RVAHub)

Local skincare brand Maven Made has announced an opening date for its first storefront. You’ll be able to find serums, soaps, candles, and more at the Bellevue location starting Saturday, Oct. 26.

OrthoVirginia has opened a new space in Westchester Commons, but it’s closing two other locations in the process. Its office at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center closed last week, and its HCA Johnston-Willis Hospital location plans to wrap up operation this Monday, Sept. 16. (Richmond BizSense)
