There are plenty of fun and fascinating things to do in Richmond as an older person. We put out the call to readers and did some research of our own to assemble this list of River City activities ideal for most seasoned Richmonders.
There’s plenty of ways to get your blood pumping. Reader Eddie B. recommended bowling. Grab some friends and pick an alley, or join a league. Henrico County offers one for those 55+ that rolls on Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m.
Henrico also has a golf club (ages 50+) and tennis clubs (ages 55+) at various times throughout the week.

Take a class at the Visual Arts Center to flex your creative muscles. VisArts offers courses both online and in-person at their Main Street studio.

TBT El Gallo has moved into its new space in the former Kreggers at Hand location. You can swing by for takeout and patio dining now — it has hours Mondays through Saturdays.

An indoor cycling spot for kids is coming to Stony Point Fashion Park. WeeWheel will feature zones for practicing pedaling and using balance bikes, as well as offering bike rentals and classes. The 10,000-sqft space will open Dec. 1. (South Richmond News)

Regency Mall restaurant Sloop John B has closed. Owner Garland Taylor is turning the Caribbean taco spot into a second location of Twin Hickory Tavern. He’s putting $800,000 in renovations into the space as part of the rebrand. (Richmond BizSense)
