Must-see houses

Let’s get this glow on the road — here are a few houses to highlight on your map.

Oregon Hill Christmas House, 408 S. Laurel St.
Lights at this iconic home go on at 6 p.m. and remain lit until 10 p.m.

The House, 900 Catherine St.
The dance studio in Carver is decorated with 30,000 lights, including an illuminated mural.

Trippin Breakers, 3307 Kensington Ave.
You can recognize this Museum District display by the lights draped over the sidewalk.

A Phifer Christmas, 9604 Asbury Ct.
Lights turn on at 5:20 each night through the end of the year at this iconic tacky light house. Bonus: The Grinch and Santa have been known to make appearances.

Coming Soon

Restaurant Adarra plans to open in the former Mamma Zu location within the next few weeks. Owners Randall and Lyne Doetzer have added 1,100 sqft to the Oregon Hill building since purchasing it over two years ago. Get a preview of the space. (Richmond BizSense)

Traffic

City Council adopted several ordinances at its final meeting of the year on Monday, Dec. 9. A number of traffic-related measures passed which will provide funding to install intersection improvements, signal heads, left turn hardening measures, and new signs.

Civic

The city’s chief administrative officer, Lincoln Saunders, has announced that he will vacate the position when Mayor Levar Stoney’s term ends at the end of the year. Saunders has held the role for four years and was previously Stoney’s chief of staff. (The Richmonder)

Concert

The concert announcements keep on coming for Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront, which will open in 2025. Alison Krauss and Union Station, Styx, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are all on board for shows this summer.

Eat

Christopher’s Runaway Gourmay is now closed for the winter. The downtown food carts will reopen in the spring, likely in March. Check out some local lunch deals to hold you over until then.

Holiday
