The Jefferson Cup Tournament kicks off this weekend, drawing 30,000 players between 1,960 soccer teams to Richmond. Beyond players and goals, the Jefferson Cup, a youth soccer tournament, also brings a substantial economic impact to our area — $42.7 million in 2024, to be exact. (Richmond Times Dispatch)

Real Estate

An 18-acre plot of land now earmarked for the Diamond District redevelopment project sold for $11.4 million, according to the city. Phase 1A plans for the project include roads, housing, commercial space + more. Groundbreaking is expected to occur in the coming months; an exact date is TBA. (WRIC)

The Shed, a Pilates studio with nods to yoga practices, has expanded from owner Jane Ellington’s backyard to the former Homme Essentials spot at 1006 Lafayette St. The boutique studio specializes in small group classes ranging from mat and reformer Pilates to yoga. Book a class. (Style Weekly)

New business coming in hot. River City Sauna Co., located behind Once Upon a Vine on MacArthur Avenue, is open.
