Answered

What fish is most commonly found in the James River?

48.7%: Blue catfish
33.7%: Smallmouth bass
12.8%: Largemouth bass
4.8%: Mermaid

🎉 Correct answer: Mermaid, of course. Just kidding — it’s smallmouth bass, popular in the middle and upper reaches of the river. Some of you took the bait with this quiz.

The Wrap

We had to give The Roosevelt a proper shout-out for earning the No. 1 spot on RTD’s honorary top Richmond restaurants list.

I went to The Roosevelt for the first time last winter and ordered the fried catfish, served over butter rice and tomato bacon gravy. I don’t think I spoke until I was finished eating. Next time around, I’m eyeing the seared scallops, but I’d better remember to make a reservation.
