Three neighborhood porches. Six local artists.Tiny Porch Concerts welcomes in the warmth of summer with front-yard tunes, beginning on Sunday, June 15 + running once a month through October.
The porches and performances are all lined up, so you can plan ahead for your next neighborhood concert. This weekend, the shows will take place on the following porches:
RVA Old-Time Jam | 7-9 p.m. | Hardywood Park Craft Brewery | Free | Drop in for this Appalachian-style jam session, which has been drawing out local talent for years.

Master Gardener Help Desk | 3:30-5:30 p.m. | Belmont Public Library | Free | You could rent a book on gardening, or you could take a shortcut and ask a plant pro, eager to answer questions + provide helpful resources on the spot.
Book and Puzzle Swap w/ RVA Queer Book Club | 6-7:30 p.m. | Main Library | Free | Bring your pre-loved books and puzzles to trade in for a few new ones + make some friends along the way.

I’m determined to make it to an Old-Time Jam session at Hardywood, taking place on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
Back in Tennessee, my parents used to take me to bluegrass Pickin’ Nights at an old cafe and general store. I’m feeling nostalgic and perhaps missing my rural roots a bit. I think an old-time jam could serve as a hearty fix.
