Celebrate Richmond with the ultimate block party, 804 Day.

Acting as a homegrown holiday, 804 Day gets creative with our long-standing area code, translating it to 8.04 or Aug. 4. The fourth lands on a Monday this year, so celebrations kick off this Saturday, Aug. 2, at the 17th Street Market venue.

Shockoe Records has helped line up 10 local music acts to fill the festival with energy. Plus, there will be a roster of talented local artisans, kid-friendly activities, nonprofit booths, and cold beer.

As a Richmonder, this is your party, your neighbor’s party, and your neighbor’s neighbor’s dog’s party — bring the crew or make new friends while you’re there. Admission is free, and the event runs from 12:30 p.m. through 6:30 p.m.
