Attend a short film screening

Richmond serves as a lesser-known focal point in the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. How so? Find out at Ashland Theatre’s screening of “Echoes of a Dream: MLK’s Legacy in Richmond, Virginia,” tomorrow, Jan. 20. at 7 p.m.

The nine-minute film, exploring Dr. King’s local impact, won the Audience Choice + Best Short Film awards at the 2025 Richmond International Film Festival.

After the screening, guests are welcome to stay for a panel discussion and address from the director Tyrone Nelson Jr.

Plan ahead

If tomorrow’s event is too last-minute, Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church will host another screening on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 11:45 a.m. Stay tuned for more upcoming screenings.
