Pocahontas State Park is celebrating 80 years of conservation and recreation with a special anniversary hike tomorrow, Jan. 17, from 12-1:30 p.m.

Join park rangers, immerse in the elements, and hear founding tales of Virginia’s largest state park, just 30 minutes from central Richmond.

According to park officials, residents can expect programs and activities throughout the year to celebrate the park’s big 8-0.

The Black History Museum of Virginia will premiere a technology-based exhibit honoring the legacy of Arthur Ashe on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Guests will experience an archival history of the tennis legend, from his time in Richmond and beyond.
