Richmond’s squirrely heroine is getting her flowers and making Minor League Baseball (MLB) history.

Earlier this week, the Flying Squirrels unveiled new Nutasha theme-night uniforms and Nutasha merch. The power-punching pink set is about more than a fresh look though.

This design will mark a milestone in MLB history as the first uniforms to feature a female mascot, according to Flying Squirrels officials.

Side note: The team also announced a new job fair series, and they’re hiring a mascot.

The Wrap

50-60 minutes. That’s how much extra daylight Richmond will gain by the end of February, according to AccuWeather. As the days get longer, I suggest soaking up the afternoon sun on a local restaurant’s patio with a beverage in hand.
