Bellevue has a new shawarma spot, but the flavors might be familiar to some. Mila’s Shawarma is now open in Bellevue, but owner Ahmed Al Asani’s restaurant roots trace back to Shawarma Bistro, which closed in 2020. Check out Mila’s menu, and get (re)acquainted with the flavors. (Times Dispatch)
Development
“What is Sports Backers Stadium and why is it holding up Diamond District development?” Following the city’s $14.7M loan to propel the sale of Sports Backers Stadium, many locals have been left with questions. The Richmonder inquired to find some answers.
Transit
Cold cash is old news. All-electronic tolling is underway, eliminating driver stops and cash exchanges on Powhite Parkway, Boulevard Bridge, and all ramps. The Downtown Expressway will still accept cash from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. but intends to go all-electronic in 2027. (WTVR)
Watch
Shh, my program’s on. The Richmond Falcon Cam is back for another exciting season, offering glimpses into the lives of two returning stars — “everyone’s favorite falcon couple,” according to the Virginia Department of Wildlife. Visit the livestream to see if they’re camera-ready now. (WRIC)

Richmond’s new cabaret theater, DreamHaus, is seeking local talent, but not just cabaret stars. The search includes aerialists, comedians, poets, magicians, puppeteers, and “any specialty act that defies labels.” Your audition call is this Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m.
Art
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts ushered out the “Giants” exhibit last weekend. The next special collection will move in later this spring. For now, visitors can explore “Pictures More Famous than the Truth,” which offers a contemporary twist on the history of George Washington.
Warmer weather is on the horizon, and Carytown’s New York Deli is celebrating with extended rooftop hours. Keep an eye on NYD’s socials for daily hour adjustments throughout this week.
Huzzah. I’ve officially ordered my ticket for the Richmond Renaissance Faire in April. Don’t forget to plan ahead and reserve your day passes if you want to attend. There will be no ticket sales at the gate, and online ticket sales will close after sellout.
