Richmonders, ready your porches

You should either be rummaging through your closets for relics to sell or collecting change for a little something to spend.

The first-ever unofficially official Fan Flea Market — a community-wide yard sale — is happening this weekend, Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We say “unofficially officially” because this surely isn’t the first collaborative call for yard sales in the neighborhood, but there is one factor that makes the Fan Flea Market stand out:

Organizers created an online map to track participating residents. The list currently features 50+ planned yard sales spanning from South Harrison Street to South Arthur Ashe Boulevard.

☀️ Savor the sunny season in this slice of NC

Spring is in full swing, and so are plans for weekend getaways: beaches, mountains, and other familiar escapes.

But for those born to stand out — why go where everyone else is going?

Look no further than Chapel Hill, just a scenic ride from Richmond.

Yes, it’s gorgeous. The azaleas bloom and dogwoods stretch toward the sun. But the real magic is in the rhythm of it all.

🎶 Tune into local sounds

From Dex Fest in June at the Cat’s Cradle to soaking up sounds with the North Carolina Symphony during free summer concerts, you’ll find live music nearly every evening if you know where to look.

🌳 Slow down and stay awhile

Along the way, make the most of your quiet moments with unexpected finds and simple delights.

Sip and stroll through Weaver Street Market with coffee and an almond croissant, or browse vintage and handmade goods in Carrboro’s shops and along Chapel Hill’s sidewalks.

If you were born to stand out, you’ll fit right in.
Let curiosity lead you there
