Public registration is now open for summer classes at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, running Monday, June 8, through Thursday, Aug. 16.
Classes can fill up fast, but don’t stress too much if you see a waitlist. The calendar is decked out with 100+ beginner-friendly, intermediate, and advanced offerings.
Classes and studio workshops are available for adults and young artists ages 3 and up. Subjects include — but are certainly not limited to — clay art, woodworking, writing, painting, metalworking, and printmaking.
Family Studio Days will take place on Saturdays, priced at $10 per person. Prices vary for adult classes, which are available in both one-day and multi-week formats.
A Richmond couple has preserved a 0.43-acre plot of green space in Scott’s Addition since 2012. Now, they intend to pass it over to the Capital Region Land Conservancy for consideration as a public park. A recent assessment of the plot indicates a ~640% increase in real estate value compared to its 2012 purchase price. (WTVR)
