Designs for the site were created with consideration to the natural topography of the location.

Fonticello Food Forest is building an outdoor workshop space for community events. The group is collaborating with Storefront for Community Design and Richmond Parks and Recreation to make it happen.

Plans indicate that the new space will feature an accessible raised platform, an entrance path, and benches. There will also be removable screening and shade sails that can be stored when not in use.

The project is partially funded by a USDA grant received by Richmond Grows Gardens, a city program supporting community gardens. A construction start date has not yet been announced.
