“When you’re an Ivy, you’re part of something so much bigger than yourself,” the team’s manifesto reads.

Last year, Richmond Ivy SC joined the sports scene as RVA’s only pre-professional women’s soccer team. It didn’t take long for the Ivy to grow on the hearts of fans. The team’s inaugural, sold-out opener drew 6,000+ flag-waving, green-repping fans to City Stadium, and the same energy is expected this year.

To young people, and young girls in particular, Richmond Ivy is a game-changer; the dream of one day scoring or saving a goal in front of thousands of hometown fans is now a reality that feels closer than ever.

The team opens its 2025 season with a match against Virginia Beach United this Saturday, May 10, at 6 p.m. We recommend arriving early to beat parking traffic and make it for happy hour + fan giveaways. Score your ticket while you can for $17 + fees.

Bonus: For the season opener, $5 from each ticket sold through this link benefits River City Roller Derby. We love to see these two Richmond leagues looking out for each other.

Fans crowd the stands of Richmond Ivy, and one person stands out, lifting up a white "RVA [heart] Ivy" sign with gold, red, and green lettering.

Remember to don your green and orange — green for ivy + orange for the historic city bricks that the weaving vine adorns. If you want to grab a jersey or hat when you arrive, visit the team shop just past the stadium entrance. We’ve got our eyes on the green cord hat.

Check out Ivy’s full promotional calendar to plan ahead for the season, which features the Brandi Chastain Cup, Pride Night, Fan Appreciation Night, and more.
