Fourth of July Celebration at Dogwood Dell | 5-11 p.m. | 600 S. Arthur Ashe Blvd. | Free entry | Join the City of Richmond’s celebration featuring live music from the Richmond Concert Jazz Band + Richmond Concert Band, plus a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.
Free Fourth of July at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. | 1800 Lakeside Ave. | Free entry | Stroll the gardens, see tropical + native butterflies at M&T Bank Butterflies LIVE!, and view sculpture exhibit “Incanto: An Oasis of Lyrical Sculpture.” The event has no fireworks and is open rain or shine.
Red, White, and Lights at Crump Park | 4-10 p.m. | 3400 Mountain Rd. | Free entry | Celebrate with a lineup of live music, food trucks, a kid’s zone featuring face painting and balloon twisting, and a laser light show while The Richmond Symphony performs. The event has no fireworks and allows dogs on a leash.
Ashland July Fourth Parade and Celebration | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. | Hanover Arts & Activities Center, 550 S. Center St., Ashland | Free entry | Play lawn games, enjoy patriotic music, grab hot dogs and snow cones, and dress up your pet for a patriotic pet contest. Bonus: Register for the apple pie baking contest.
Fourth of July Celebration at Chesterfield County Fairgrounds | 5-10 p.m. | 10300 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield | Free entry | Enjoy a night with live music, food vendors, a kid’s zone, and fireworks beginning at dark. This event is rain or shine and pets are not allowed.
