This neighborhood market has served the community since 1989. Find organic produce, health supplements, desserts + grab a takeaway lunch from their salad bar or the new kid in the market — Billy Pasta.
The Mantu Market, 7510 W. Broad St.
The market is the West End extension of Ellwood neighbor + Afghan restaurant, The Mantu. Grab Middle Eastern classics, spices, to-go meals + freshly made baked goods.
Stella’s Grocery has six locations, from Scott’s Addition to Manchester.

Libbie Market, 400 Libbie Ave. Formerly Joe’s Market, this shop offers a full grocery experience, as well as a large collection of beer + wine.
Strawberry Street Market, 415 N. Strawberry St.
Stop by the fresh deli section, grab a coffee, or even stock up on household items and school supplies at this Fan favorite.
Yellow Umbrella Provisions, 5607 Patterson Ave.
This market just past Willow Lawn focuses on fresh seafood, deli meats +special-ordered produce, wine, and baked goods.

Avery Hall Investments has revised its blueprints so its nine-figure development will not block Legend Brewing’s skyline view over the city. The Brooklyn-based developers plan to shift one building west + shorten the other in length at the proposed property on 301 W. Sixth St. (Richmond BizSense)

$27.8M. That’s how much Civica Inc., a nonprofit drug company, plans to invest in the construction of a laboratory facility at Meadowville Technology Park in Chesterfield. According to Governor Glenn Youngkin, the project will create 51 new jobs. No opening date has been discussed at this time. 💸 (NBC12)

The James River Park System is celebrating 50 years of service with an anniversary party this Saturday at Belle Isle. From 12-4 p.m., guests can try out recreational activities available around the park + meet other organizations thatwork in and around the river. 🌊
Henrico County’s Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is opening applications for the Henrico Master Gardener training program. 100 hours of classroom time + working in the dirt will earn participants the title. The deadline to apply for this $175 class is Fri., Oct. 28. 🪴(ABC8 News)
History
The Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia is opening a new exhibit in time for its 40th anniversary. “Forging Freedom, Justice and Equality,” a six-part thematic journey through Black life over time, will open to the public on Wed., Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. (Richmond Free Press)

“Chips 4 A Chance” Casino Night will be held Sat., Oct. 1 from 7-11 p.m. at the Acca Shriner’s Center Ballroom (1712 Bellevue Ave.). All proceeds go toward Jacob’s Chance, which helps youth with disabilities have access to adaptable sports + recreational activities. 🎰
