City Council to vote on climate plan
RVAgreen 2050 seeks public comment on Climate Equity Action Plan
The plan has to be formally adopted by City Council. | Photo by @j.will.photography
The Climate Equity Action Plan 2030 will be presented to City Council for adoption on Monday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. The plan was spearheaded by RVAgreen 2050, the city’s equity-centered climate initiative.
The initiative’s main goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 45% by 2030, achieve net zero emissions by 2050, and help adapt to climate impacts of extreme weather events over the next decade.
Want to get involved? Public comment will be accepted at the City Council meeting. You can also join an implementation team to put the plan in action — contact the folks at RVAgreen 2050 for more information.
The plan is quite lengthy. We gathered some of the highlights when it was released back in April 2022 — click the button below to read our story.
