Designs finalized for new baseball diamond
The current Diamond will be demolished after the new stadium is built. | Photo by RICtoday
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the upcoming baseball stadium now has a schematic design.
The design hasn’t been released to the public, but it includes things like building dimensions, heating, and plumbing. The final stadium should have a capacity of at least 9,000.
The future ballpark will be the home of both the Flying Squirrels and VCU Baseball. It’s the centerpiece of the Diamond District redevelopment, which will take shape over the next decade around the new stadium. Groundbreaking should take place sometime in the next three months.
