  • You can cheer for two Richmonders at this year’s Olympic Track & Field trials. Local pro Keira D’Amato is declared to run the 10,000m next Saturday, and Freeman HS grad Waleed Suliman will race the 1500m starting this weekend. Watch on NBC and see the full schedule here.

Catch Richmond Folk Fest flashbacks on VPM all summer

VPM will broadcast performances from last year’s Richmond Folk Festival each Saturday at 5 p.m. until Sept. 21. The summer program starts this weekend.

The Encore broadcasts will feature performances by acts from across the country and around the world. Genres include Quebecois folk, bluegrass, Mexican son jarocho, gospel, and traditional Ukrainian music.

Encore will be broadcast on both 107.3 FM and 93.1 FM, as well as on VPM’s website.

The Folk Fest will return to the riverside the weekend of Sept. 27-29. VPM will also broadcast the free event live on the air.

Did you know? The first round of artists for this year’s event have already been announced.
