OrthoVirginia opened a new space yesterday in Westchester Commons, but it’s closing two other locations in the process. Its office at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center closed last week, and its HCA Johnston-Willis Hospital location plans to wrap up operation on Monday, Sept. 16. (Richmond BizSense)
Festival
The Weinstein JCC’s annual Fall Festival will return to Camp Hilbert in Maidens, VA on Sunday, Oct. 20. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can expect entertainment including moon bounces, arts and crafts, and face painting, plus canoeing, kayaking, and plenty of games. Grab your tickets now — they’re $8 per person or $30 per family.
Cause
Want to find some new clothes for your children and support your community in the process? Just Kids in Powhatan offers gently used clothing at lower prices to make sure every child can have clothes that fit. The shop runs off both monetary and clothing donations from the community — see how you can chip in. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
Arts
The Institute for Contemporary Art opened three new exhibits last week: “Caitlin Cherry: Eigengrau,” “Loie Hollowell: Space Between, A Survey of Ten Years,” and “Dear Mazie.” The latter dives into the life and legacy of Amaza Lee Meredith, “the country’s first Black, queer architect.” Museum admission is free — get a sneak peak of what to expect on your next visit.
Sports
What would your high school’s football team do with $100,000? School officials can register your high school for the chance to win T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights contest. Psst — Petersburg High is already in the running.
Richmonder
A Richmonder has been in singer Karol G’s touring band all summer. Drummer T.K. Johnson may have been playing sold-out stadium shows across Europe this summer, but she honed her chops at Church Hill’s Asbury United Methodist Church. The 23-year-old is going back on the road with the Colombian pop star in a few weeks. (VPM)

I’ve been on record here before that I’m a huge Deadhead. Science has yet to produce a way for me to time travel back to 1977 and catch the Dead at the Altria, but I’m more than happy to settle for DSO at Maymont.
