🌱 Pumpkin patches
Chesterfield Berry Farm, Moseley
The fall festivities continue on weekends through Oct. 27 with a corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride, pig races, and a shelled corn play area. Admission starts at $20 per person.
Hanover Vegetable Farm, Ashland
Take part in weekday hayrides or head out on the weekend to get pumpkins, walk the corn maze, bounce on the giant pumpkin jump pad, and shoot corn cannons. Tickets are $8 — or $15 with a pumpkin included.
Pumpkin picking starts Friday, Sept. 27.
Ashland Berry Farm, Ashland
There’s something for everyone at this Hanover haunt with all-you-can-carry pumpkin picking and four spooky experiences as part of Terror on the Farm.

We’re in the middle of James River Week, and there are several events to get out, enjoy the river, and learn more about it. It all wraps up with the Pawpaw Festival at Powhatan State Park this Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.

Did you know? The River City has its own Irish hurling and camogie club, Richmond Battery GAA. The fast-paced stick-and-ball sport is known as the fastest game on grass — try your hand in the fall pub league. Registration is open and games start in October.
Arts
Local artist Tyler Thomas is planning an exhibition of his works, created in the 20+ years since he moved to Richmond. You might recognize his signature style of work, which has adorned everything from walls around town and cans of Hardywood beer. (Style Weekly)

Festival
Richmond’s Oktoberfest celebrations continue over the next few weeks. Hardywood West Creek will host a weekend of events Oct. 4-6 complete with a ticketed tasting, brewers parade, stein holding competitions, German food and drink, and live music.
Regional
Busch Gardens will add a new roller coaster next year and is asking fans to vote for a name. The ride will pay homage to longtime favorite the Big Bad Wolf. Vote for your favorite: WölfSturm, WölfsReign or GeisterWölf. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

A north-south version of the Pulse is on its way and GRTC wants your input on its route, lanes, stations, and more.
The new bus rapid transit line is set to take riders from Brookhill Azalea Shopping Center all the way to Springline at District 60 in Chesterfield. It goes through downtown Richmond via Leigh, 9th, and 8th Streets.
GRTC has released preliminary concepts for several sections of the route. The concepts for Chamberlayne Avenue and Midlothian Turnpike have options for both curb-running and median lanes.
Share your thoughts at a virtual public meeting this Thursday, Sept. 19 at 12 p.m. Bonus: If learning about the future of public transit isn’t exciting enough, you could also win a $50 gift card at the end of the event.
