Your whimsical fall plans just landed: the Potters Pumpkin Patch Trail takes you on a seasonally festive excursion through Seagrove, NC, the pottery capital of the US.

Five highly recognized, women-led studios across Seagrove will open their doors for tours + special events from now through Saturday, Oct 25.

Each studio will showcase autumnal art, including ceramic pumpkins, gourds, autumn leaf pottery, woodland creatures, and candles (along with their “regular” work). In addition to Saturday events, studios will also be open to shop during the week.

Participating studios + artists include:

Pro tip: Seagrove is bursting with lots more to do this time of year, too. Get a glimpse of stunning NC foliage, visit the weekend before Thanksgiving to catch the Pottery Event Weekend, or stop at the North Carolina Zoo in nearby Asheboro on your drive home.

Maymont Community Garden hosted its first Mosaic Day on Saturday, Sept. 20. The volunteer-based initiative recruited a crew to add mosaic designs to the backsides of ramps at Texas Beach Skate Park.

Event organizers with Maymont Community Garden provided tiles and various ceramic dishes to break, as well as adhesive, grout, and essential tools. Volunteers were encouraged to bring their own breakable ceramics, enhancing the mosaic with a curated scattering of community contributions.

Hey there, Richmond — I’m popping in here to say hello for the day while Elise is away. You’ll have to drive ~145 miles to see all of its Elvis memorabilia, but we have plenty of exciting new restaurants to try right here in River City.
