It’s 6AM somewhere — in fact, if you’re reading this at 9 a.m. local time, it’s 6 a.m. in our sister market SEAtoday. Which brings us to our main point: Did you know there are newsletters just like RICtoday across the country, providing the same need-to-know local news and events for their communities?

List
We rolled out the most festive winter markets today, but how about restaurant and bar pop-ups? Venture Richmond has you covered with a list of 12 holiday pop-ups setting up twinkling scenes in RVA. Stay tuned: We’re visiting Santa’s Cocktail Shop at the Cirrus Tasting Room this week.
Civic
Yesterday, Nov. 18, the City of Richmond announced the Code Refresh Second Draft. According to Mayor Danny Avula, revisions focus on preserving existing housing stock while still expanding options. Example: Larger-scale apartment buildings are only allowed in areas where such buildings already exist.
Outdoors
The local nonprofit managing Sankofa Community Orchard has another project taking root. Happily Natural Day + Henrico County will open Runnymeade Community Farm in Varina. The project aims to connect and support local farmers in the area, and plot applications will open in the late fall. (WRIC)
Number
223. That’s how many new apartment buildings local firm CMB Development plans to build in Manchester, just south of Lee Bridge. What can you expect? Two buildings — one seven stories and another five stories — and possible construction in the spring of 2026. (CBS 6 + Richmond BizSense)

I have another food review — per usual, it’s solely complimentary. Earlier this week, I got to try out Morty’s Market + Deli on Brookland Park Avenue. Listen... I would have taken a picture, but I truly couldn’t spare the time. Just trust me, and get the Morty sandwich.
