We have another day-trip proposal, specifically for the barbecue critics. You may have already visited Williamsburg a dozen times, but have you tried Pierce’s Pitt Bar-B-Que? Tech
If your computer overheats with a few tabs open or sounds ready for liftoff, the problem might not be your device — it’s likely your antivirus. Many big-name brands are bulky + full of pop-ups. Webroot’s antivirus protection uses 33 times less space and scans up to six times faster. Get protected.*

💸 Last week, we asked what you wanted to know most about the newly proposed city budget.
After getting a first look at Richmond’s F27 budget, a quarter of our readers wanted to hear more about key investment areas. Here are a few proposals to start the conversation:
$263.5 million investment in city staff
Includes pay raises for police, fire, and other union-represented employees
Record-breaking $257 million allocated to Richmond Public Schools
$8.2 million more than the FY26 budget, but still several million short of district expectations
$11.7 million for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund + $1.8 million for affordable housing performance grants
Accounts for an estimated 1,900+ new affordable housing units funded through grants

Yesterday, I visited the VMHC for an early look at the new exhibit “We the People: The World in Our Commonwealth.” I’m still thinking about this vibrantly detailed 1930s costume dress (pictured below), once worn to honor Czechoslovakian heritage at a regional festival.
Stay tuned for more exhibit info, and plan ahead for its official opening this Saturday, March 21.
