Posters unveiled for Richmond Folk Festival and 2nd Street Festival

The two artists, Cassandra Kim and Jowarnise Caston, will see have their work available for purchase at their prospective festivals.

Last week, organizers of the 2nd Street Festival + the Richmond Folk Festival unveiled the official posters for the upcoming events.

Artist Jowarnise Caston created “Instrumental Reverberation” for the 2nd Street Festival. Jowarnise draws inspiration from African textile design, contemporary fashion, and urban culture. She typically works in graphic design and classical painting.

Prints of her poster will be available to purchase at the free Jackson Ward fest, which runs Sat., Oct. 1-Sun., Oct. 2

Cassandra Kim’s poster for the Richmond Folk Festival features a trio of animal musicians. She works mainly with acrylic oils to create realistic portraiture of other animals with classical painting techniques.

Her poster will be on sale at the Folk Fest from Fri., Oct. 7-Sun., Oct. 9 + is also the label of Hardywood’s official Folk Festbier Bavarian-style lager.
