How to celebrate Richmond Music Week

Find new artists, rock out at a block party, and toast to 50 years of hip-hop at special events August 4-11.

Richmond Music Week comes from local groups HearRVA, Ignited, The Auricular, RVA Playlist, Shockoe Records, and Virginia is for Music Lovers.

See your favorite artists, find a new favorite, and support the local music scene during Richmond Music Week. The celebration is coming up August 4-11 with a full slate of festivals, concerts, and pop-ups.

The party kicks off with 804 Day, a music and arts block party around 17th Street Market on Friday, Aug. 4. Expect 15+ performances across multiple stages, food trucks, beer trucks, and vendors.

Next, mingle with the pros at the Music Mixer at Gallery5 on Saturday, Aug. 5. The night is ideal for musicians looking to grow and will also include a raffle to support Life Is Valuable, a community group bringing arts resources to schools.

The week ends with RVA Rapper’s Delight on Friday, Aug. 11. Get tickets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with local legends at the Hippodrome Theater.

Plus, stay tuned for special performances and pop-up events at venues and shops around town.
