The Dominion Energy Riverrock festival just released its musical lineup for its in-person return Fri., May 20-Sun., May 22.

The outdoor sports and music festival — which will be set up on Brown’s Island, 5th Street Hillside + the trails around the James River Park System — will kick off its tunes with Richmond’s own six-piece Grateful Dead cover band, Suggesting Rhythm Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Here’s a look at concert times for a music lover’s weekend plans.

Sat., May 21

1:00 p.m. | Dead Billionaires | Local hard rock trio

2:00 p.m. | E 33rd St. | Four-piece local R&B band.

3:15 p.m. | Devils’ Coattails | New local supergroup with a funky-tonk sound.

4:30 p.m. | Delvon Lemarr Organ Trio | Seattle-based fusion of 1960s jazz, funk + soul.

6:15 p.m. | Sierra Farrell | Singer-songwriter from West Virginia who specializes in bluegrass.

8:00 p.m. | Futurebirds | Indie rock band from Georgia with 10 years of music under their belts.

Sun., May 22

1:00 p.m. | Tre. Charles | Singer/songwriter with R&B + indie soul. (He’s playing at River City Roll Fri., March 25 too.)

2:20 p.m. | Mekong Express | A local combo group with soul, rock + funk backgrounds.

3:40 p.m. | Leon III | A “psychotropic” rock duo with new music created in 2020-2021.

That’s not all folks — there’s stuff to know for the adventurous Richmonder too.

Riverrock is introducing two new events in 2022. One being an endurance-style mountain bike trek through the James River Park trails. The other, a fishing tournament called Monsters of the James River.
