44 companies in Richmond + the surrounding area rank among the fastest-growing private companies in the nation, according to the 2021 Inc. 5000 list. 👏

Inc.com determined rankings for 5,000 companies in the U.S. according to percentage revenue growth over a 3 year period. The Richmond Metro Area is home to 44 of the 310 VA-based companies that made the list this year.

These 44 companies had a median growth of 146%, total revenue of $1.3 billion + 4,009 jobs added. 3 businesses on the list are newly founded + 30 are repeat honorees.

Richmond-based business Sassy Jones ranked #24 on the list, the second-highest VA company in the ranking. The jewelry + accessory outlet was founded by CEO Charis Jones in 2013. Jones credits her business’s growth largely to her pivot to e-commerce.
