Hotel Greene: Richmond’s Hifalutin’ mini golf course

The lobby of Hotel Greene, styled in 1930's theme.

Welcome to the Lobby.

Hotel Greene on E. Franklin St. may look like a swanky, WWII-inspired place to rest your head for the night — but instead of room service and wake-up calls, there’s tee time and brunch.

Hotel Greene transports visitors back to 1932, with bold colors and vintage designs from floor to ceiling. The building itself dates back even further —being the previous home of the John Marshall Hotel, which was once one of the largest hotels in the South and hosted guests like Elizabeth Taylor + Elvis Presley. Now, it’s been transformed into a “Hifalutin’ Golf Course.”

The urban mini golf course opened in 2019, offering various old-school drinks and food with the cost of a round of putt putt. The Lobby Bar features charcuterie board options, sandwiches, and root beer floats. There are also special Golf and Meal Deals to spice up date night without breaking the bank.

Hotel Greene has all the usual amenities of a putt putt course — just add a few floors. Check the front desk for your club and ball, then hop on the elevator and find the front 9 by the hotel pool + the 1900s art gallery.

Walk-ins are available, with differing hours 7 days a week. And after 5 p.m., it’s an adults-only scene.

💡 Pro tip: There are still reservation times set up for brunch and larger parties.

And for all you jazz cats and kittens, live music is a staple in the Crown Room. It’s a 5,400 sq. ft private event space that you can rent out for weddings, parties + business meetings.
