Richmond’s longest-running concert series, Friday Cheers, returns to Brown’s Island this May. Venture Richmond dropped the full lineup of performers yesterday.

Indie artist Snail Mail will headline the first show on May 5, supported by Water From Your Eyes and Dazy. This year also sees the return of RVA Music Night, an evening of all-local talent.

Pro tip: If there are three artists, the evening will get started at 6:15 p.m. For two-act nights, it’ll be 6:30 p.m. Headliners are on at 8 p.m.

Don’t get swept up 🚗

It’s street sweeping season in Richmond

A sign posted on the sidewalk indicates street sweeping on Monday.
Street cleaning began in November. | Photo by RICtoday
Citywide street cleaning is still going on, with schedule adjustments due to inclement weather. So far, the Museum District, Fan, and Far West End have been checked off the list. DPW is currently working in the Lower West End.

Only streets with curbs and gutters will be swept. If you park your car or other vehicle on the street, you’ll need to move it to avoid being towed. Signs should go up at least 48 hours in advance of sweeping. If you do get towed, follow the city’s instructions to retrieve your vehicle.
