Looking for a place to shoot pool in the River City? Lucky for you, we’ve got a few in our pocket.

Diamond Billiards
The only devoted pool hall on this list, Diamond Billiards is packed with tables for casual and series players alike. The Midlothian outfit hosts plenty of tournaments but also has a robust restaurant section with food that they say “one wouldn’t expect to find in a pool hall.”

Don’t Look Back — Triple
A taco restaurant inside the old Triple Billiards hall, Don’t Look Back still bears the sign of its predecessor. Not only does Don’t Look Back offer plenty of pool tables, it hosts events like concerts and trivia.

The Locker Room
This beloved Forest Hill dive bar has pool tables and a cult following around the city. The Locker Room is especially beloved among Richmond smokers, since it still allows patrons to smoke inside.

City Beach
Situated in the middle of the Fan, City Beach is a classic sports bar with darts and pool tables for patrons. It’s part of a family of sports bars including The Beach House in Glen Allen and South Beach in Chesterfield.

Your Place
Another classic sports bar with a jukebox, arcade games, and karaoke fridays, Your Place off Midlothian Turnpike has eight pool and billiards tables. Pro tip: Pool is free with lunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.

United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg has launched a tax preparation assistance program for families trying to achieve financial stability.

The program offers both in-person tax sites and virtual tax assistance service. Both are free. A team of IRS-certified tax preparers and volunteers are on hand to help families in Richmond, Goochland, Chesterfield, Henrico, and Hanover whose household income is under $64,000.

There are 11 in-person tax preparation sites throughout the greater Richmond area. For Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families, the Sacred Heart Center in Richmond is available.

There is also a do-it-yourself option — individuals making up to $73,000 can email United Way for free coaching from an IRS-certified volunteer.
