Development
City Council approved a special use permit on Monday night to build three new residential buildings on Semmes Avenue. The project, located across from Canoe Run Park, will add 266 new apartments. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

The State Fair of Virginia has begun. Check out the full entertainment schedule before you head to the fairgrounds. Psst: You’ll be amazed at the Oct. 6. show.
Civic
City Council has declared that evictions without legal representation are a public crisis. The resolution was passed at its Monday meeting. Council also approved several grants to help build 1,000+ new affordable housing units. (VPM)
