Open
  • The British Embassy, which specializes in fish and chips and other UK culinary staples, is open downtown. Joy Supanya and Jon Niemiec, the married duo behind the new lunch spot, also own Thai Won On in Henrico. (Richmond Magazine)

  • City Council approved a special use permit on Monday night to build three new residential buildings on Semmes Avenue. The project, located across from Canoe Run Park, will add 266 new apartments. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Civic
  • City Council has declared that evictions without legal representation are a public crisis. The resolution was passed at its Monday meeting. Council also approved several grants to help build 1,000+ new affordable housing units. (VPM)
