To be or not to be? We opt to be on Agecroft Hall’s grassy lawn for Richmond Shakespeare’s 26th festival season. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets, and experience Richmond’s theater scene, backed by a chorus of summer breezes.

Season schedule

This year, Agecroft will host two programs — “Cyrano De Bergerac” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The festival will run on Thursdays through Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

“Cyrano De Bergerac,” May 22 - June 8, 2025

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” June 19 - July 20, 2025

Tickets

Single-performance tickets are at $47 for adults, $42 for adults 65+, $32 with a military ID, $27 with a college ID, and $22 for children 18 and under. Adult and student membership passes are also available.

Comic book fans, rejoice. A “nerd culture destination” called Black Dog Collectables has opened in The Fan at 1616 W. Main St. Offering comics and related memorabilia, the store is the culmination of Mark Overby’s years of collecting enough media to fill five storage units. (Richmond Magazine)

The Wrap

Has anyone tried Chimbo Sandwich Shoppe in Church Hill yet? I’ve seen quite a bit of controversy debating the menu prices and sandwich sizes (i.e., high-dollar, “thicc” portions, as described by The Richmond Experience). I guess I’ll have to make the trip myself to properly evaluate this moral quandary over a 16-inch Tuscan sandwich.
