The Virginia State Fair is kicking off the fall season today with fried foods, folk songs, fascinating vendors + fun rides. 🎠

You can start your adventure as soon as 10 o’clock this morning at the fairgrounds, located at The Meadow Event Park in Doswell — 30 minutes from downtown Richmond.

📍Parking

  • General Parking: Free
  • Premium Parking: $22.50, can be found by Gate 2 near the Farm Bureau Center.
  • Pro tip: Re-entry to the fair is allowed if you have that day’s ticket, plus blankets + chairs are allowed for concerts.

⏰ Hours

  • Gates open: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Amusement park rides open: 11 a.m.
  • Pro tip: No gate tickets will be sold after 8 p.m.

🎟 Tickets

  • Gate admission: $16, 4-years-old + under free
  • Unlimited Ride Wristband at gate: $32
  • Online ticket sales: $15, 4-years-old + under free
  • Online Unlimited Ride Wristband: $30
  • Pro tip: Military discounts available at the gate if you show proper ID.

🎢 Attractions

Rides: Make sure you check the height requirements ahead of time.

Farm Animals: They even have a variety of birds to meet.

Concert Series: Kicks off with C&C Music Factory on the main stage tonight at 7:30.

Heritage Village: Take a trip back in time through Virginia farming history.

Competitions: Crafters, livestock owners + gardeners will compete for top prizes.

Food + Vendor List: Say hi to your favorite local snack shops, or the toy and sports booths.
