Reminisce with us as The Diamond wraps up its final stadium season after 40 years.

The Diamond’s final week of games is packed with “FUNN,” including a hot dog happy hour, several returning player spotlights, and a few fan participation opportunities.

It’s time to say farewell to The Diamond, Richmond’s premier baseball stadium since 1985. As one torch passes to another, we set eyes across the outfield to CarMax Park, Richmond’s $100+ million stadium, opening for the 2026 season.

This week marks the end of the Flying Squirrel’s 2025 baseball season and the stadium’s final days of action. The final tour, Tuesday, Sept. 9, through Sunday, Sept. 14, includes games like Time Capsule Tuesday, RVA Night, Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off, Childhood Cancer Awareness Night, and one final Goodbye Diamond night (which is sold out).

Tickets for games Tuesday through Saturday are flying fast — check availability here. In the meantime, we’re not quite ready to say goodbye. First, we want to reminisce.

Share your memories

We want to hear your favorite Diamond memories, whether it’s from the 1990s or from last month.

Do you have a photo from your first-ever game? Ever caught a fly ball with your bare hands? Were you there when the giant chunk of concrete fell from the sky (fortunately, with no injuries)? Did you find love at a baseball field? Did you and your friends invent your own hot-dog eating contest?

We want to hear it all, and we’d love to see the photos that take you back in time as well. Submit here, and we may spotlight your story in a farewell feature later this week.
