Bring the whole family — or rediscover your inner child — at the Science Museum of Virginia’s 47th Annual Model Railroad Show. It’s tracking to have all the bells and whistles you could ever dream of.

From Friday, Nov. 29 to Sunday, Dec. 1, guests can marvel at model trains zipping through intricate displays, each carefully crafted by some of Virginia’s top hobbyists. Think: Unique setups featuring LEGO bricks, Star Wars, UFOs, and more.

This year, the Science Museum is pulling out all the stops with exciting new additions, including:

  • An interactive family train yard (where future engineers can play with a variety of train sets)
  • Blacksmith demos, showing how locomotive engine parts are made
  • Special screenings of the PBS Kids show “Dinosaur Train”

Pro tip: To manage traffic flow, the Science Museum of Virginia is offering timed tickets for the Model Railroad Show. Reserve tickets online before the event to secure your preferred entry time.

All aboard, Richmond
