This week marks an exciting new era in the realm of Richmond ‘za. With two major announcements shaking up the scene, let’s see what’s on the hot ‘n ready horizon.
Moving in
Since July, Pizzeria Delores has been firing up momentum with successful pop-ups at restaurants like Susie’s Delicatessen and Julio’s Bagels. Spotlight menus have featured Sicilian-style taste tests, including a house pie, The Veg Mob, and a Dee-Lo Special (with 10 ingredients).
Fresh out of the oven, it seems Pizzeria Delores is ready to lock in its local reputation with a brick-and-mortar location, set to open in 2026. The golden question: Where? We asked... but we may be waiting with you in bated breath.
Major makeover
In other pizza news, Zorch’s Carytown space no longer accommodates the locals’ steadfast demand for ‘za. According to the team’s most recent announcement, it’s time for some significant interior renovations, like the ones you see on HGTV.
Talking about Diamond District plans can be a little overwhelming. There’s CarMax Park, then there’s… a bunch of other buildings on the way. Here’s a more concrete update. Developers are considering local law firm Hirschler as the “trophy” office building, standing five stories tall outside the new stadium’s outfield. (Richmond BizSense)
Travel
The Federal Aviation Administration announced flight limitations across 40 US airports. Was Richmond International Airport (RIC) included in the original list? No. Will RIC be affected? According to airport officials, most likely, via connecting flights. To prepare for upcoming travel plans, brush up on our local airport guide.
Cause
Earlier this week, we laid out a 101 guide on how to support RVA Community Fridges. Warm up your helping hands. As of yesterday, Nov. 6, the organization launched a Thanksgiving Meal Drive, and sign-ups are open for donation drop-offs.
Try This
It’s the First Friday of November, and while some monthly celebrations have gone into hibernation, others are keeping the fire lit. Tonight, Gallery5 and Richmond Moon Market are teaming up for an outdoor block party with food, live music, and the return of an immersive model trail exhibit.

“Our garden is the last piece of peace in this neighborhood,” said Claudia Spurill, Executive Director of SOCO Grows. According to SOCO, Biggs Road Community Garden in Southside is struggling to hang on amid surrounding construction. The team seeks community support — volunteer shifts, garden donations, and spreading the word.
